Description:  FORT SMITH AR June 1973 -- F7 34 awaits its next assignment. This was my first roll of Kodachrome 25 after Kodachrome II was discontinued. I switched to Kodachrome 64 after this. K25 seemed to me to be too saturated and contrasty.

Description:  ROCKY FORD CO March 11 1980 -- American Crystal Sugar Co. used F7A 64 as a switcher. According to Dons Depot, http://donsdepot.donrossgroup.net/index.htm, "564, F7A, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1949, #8358, as Denver & Rio Grande Western 564D, Class DE4(B-B)226. It was renumbered as 5644, Class DE4(B-B)226, in 1950 and rebuilt by Electro-Motive in 1957. It was reclassified Class B-B 60 in 1962 and retired on August 27, 1969. It was sold as American Crystal Sugar Co 64 in January 1970 and sold to Glen Monhart in 1980. It was painted as CMNR 564 and became WICT 901. It was repainted as Charleston & Western Carolina 901. Information seems to be lacking regarding the disposition." Note the "diesel fairy" on the fireman side and platform on engineer side.

Description:  OKLAHOMA CITY OK October 1979 -- This undated photo shows Katy F7A 72C at the old roundhouse site in Turner Yard. It had the point on the journey from McAlester but will relinquish its lead spot for the return trip. The unit was MKT 209C when it was delivered in 1949. Description:  CRUSHER OK March 1973 -- In this undated photo ATSF F-7A 254C rounds the curve southbound in Big Canyon just past the Dolese rock crusher operation at Crusher in Oklahoma. Getting to this location was a chore. There were two choices. First was to walk alongside the tracks with very little clearance between the tracks and the river. Second was to jump the fence at the Dolese plant. In this instance we chose the former. (Photo date approximate)

Description:  OKLAHOMA CITY OK January 1975 -- In this undated photo ATSF F7A 275L gleams in the sun while pausing at Nowers Yard. EMD built the unit in November 1953, Santa Fe‚Äôs Cleburne shops rebuilt it into CF7 2417 in March 1978. It was retired Sept 20 1984 and sold to Rail Systems in November 1984. In July 1988 it was sold to Emons Transportation as MPA 1500 and again sold to York Rail as YKR 1500. (Date approximate, roster information from atsfrr.net)

Description:  NORMAN OK September 1977 -- Battered but not beaten. This undated photo shows Santa Fe F7A 275 in downtown Norman. It will be the lead unit when the Norman turn returns to Nowers Yard in Oklahoma City. This site is within feet of the now gone tracks of the interurban to Oklahoma City. This locomotive was built by EMD in November 1953. In March 1978 workers at Cleburne shops rebuilt it as CF7 2417. (Roster information from atsfrr.net, date based on slide mount)
