NORMAN OK May 22 2001 -- SLSF 1522 leads a westbound (compass south) employee special on the BNSF's main line through Oklahoma. According to Wikipedia, “SLSF 1522 is a two-cylinder, simple 4-8-2 Mountain-type steam locomotive built in 1926 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works for the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway. It was retired, and in May 1959 donated to the Museum of Transportation, St. Louis, Missouri, where it is currently on display.The 1522 was originally retired about 1951. Later, the SLSTA started the restoration in 1985 and the 1522 entered its second career in 1988. It was returned to retirement in 2002. This locomotive has done a variety of excursions throughout its excursion career."
