| GAINESVILLE TX March 9 1976 -- The location is south of Gainesville on the way to Oklahoma. The Freedom Train departed Fort Worth in early morning cloudy weather. This photo shows 4449 alone pulling the Freedom Train. Another photo I took the same day near Pauls Valley shows a Santa Fe Bicentennial unit in the consist. I would like to know if my dating of this photo is accurate and what the story of the diesel being added is. Any takers? |
