ATSF 3017
NORMAN OK April 1986 -- This undated photo shows Santa Fe GP20u 3017 between East Main Street and East Eufaula Street. The train is westbound (compass south) and is the daily Norman turn. By this time the local no longer laid over in Norman and no longer needed more than one engine. EMD built the unit as GP20 ATSF 1117 in July 1960. It became ATSF 3117 in the 1969-70 general renumbering. In October 1977 the San Bernardino shops rebuilt it as a GP20u and it was renumbered ATSF 3017. Upon Santa Fe’s merger with BN it became BNSF 2010 on Sept 11 1995. It was sold to PRC after retirement. (Date approximate, roster information from atsfrr.net)
