ATSF 5428         
SUMMERFIELD TX Oct 8 1988 -- Santa Fe SD45u 5428 rolls across the Texas Panhandle with a westbound mixed freight in tow. EMD built the 5428 as SD45 ATSF 1882 (s/n 32558) in Oct-Dec 1966 and delivered it in blue with yellow ends and trim. In April-July 1970 it was renumbered 5582 and gained yellow warbonnet paint after Aug 26 1972. On June 13 1980 the San Bernardino Ca shops rebuilt it as an SD45u and it was renumbered 5428. It was retired in March 1991 and sold to Pacific Rail Industries-Pacific Rail Dismantling in Nov 1991. (http://atsfrr.net/resources/CrossetGene/all-time%20diesel%20roster/pwr5250.htm)
