It gained MP yellow paint on Sept 21 1984, was renumbered UP 71 on April 15 1988, was renumbered to UP 981 on May 22 1992, was renumbered to UP 5579 on March 18 1997 and was renumbered to UP 1679 on Dec 11 2001.m It was retired on Sept 30 2004.
