| FORT WORTH TX July 1983 -- Katy GP40s 221, 170, 172, 186 and 205 idle at the engine facility. EMD built the 221 (s/n 35464) in November 1969. It was to become Union Pacific 591 but was retired by UP on Feb 28 1989 because of wreck damage. It was sold to Morrison Knudsen in June 1990, rebuilt as a GP40M-2 at MK, repainted in St. Louis Southwestern colors and renumbered SSW 7281 on Dec 9 1990. It was renumbered UP 1498 on Aug 9 2007 and wears UP yellow paint.
