ATSF 3809 |
Description: |
NORMAN OK May 1982 -- The Oklahoma Highway 9 overpass in south Norman affords a good view of Santa Fe GP40X 3809, GP50 3817, GP50 3824 leading an all piggyback westbound (compass south) train. I suspect this is train 185 but I did not label the slide and I forgot to date the slide. Doh! GM built the 3809 in May 1978 as a testbed for the 50 series. It became BNSF 3039 on March 12 1998 with the BN-ATSF merger. (Roster information from atsfrr.net) |
