Pauls Valley OK April 1981 -- This undated photo shows Santa Fe GP38 3501 as it awaits its crew for switching duties in this south-central Oklahoma community. At one time an alternate north-south Santa Fe line from Newkirk in the north through Cushing, Shawnee, Tecumseh, and Byars rejoining the Oklahoma City main line in Pauls Valley. EMD built the 3501 in June 1970. In April 1985 Santa Fe rebuilt it as GP38u 2301. When Santa Fe and Burlington Northern merged it became BNSF 2190 (Feb 9 1980).
