TUPELO OK Jan 28 1985 -- Missouri Pacific GP50 3507 leads a southbound TOFC train as it holds the siding waiting for 4-8-4 8444 to pass. Note railfans on the highway 3 overpass in the left background. EMD built the 3507 (s/n 797322-8 in November 1980. It gained Union Pacific yellow paint on Dec 30 1984 and became UP 57 on Jan 7 1988. It was renumbered to UP 967 on Feb 8 1990. On July 12 1993 it was fitted with dynamic brakes. FORT WORTH TX May 26 1985 -- Missouri Pacific GP50 3521 is ready to depart the engine facility. EMD built the 3521 (s/n 807023-12) in January 1981 and delivered it in MP blue. After the MP-UP merger it gained MP yellow paint on Sept 21 1984, was renumbered UP 71 on April 15 1988, renumbered to UP 981 on May 22 1992, then UP 5579 on March 18 1997 and finally UP 1679 on Dec 11 2001. It was retired on Dept 30 2004.
